Throughout my paintings and drawings, I have been interested in abstracting the figure and experimenting with different kinds of visual elements. This piece incorporates this interest with more recent work that I have done involving cut text.
Artist Bio:
Jocelyn Shu is an artist and researcher who lives in New York City. She received her BFA in painting/drawing jointly from the University of San Francisco and California College of the Arts, and is currently a PhD candidate at Columbia University where she is conducting research in psychology on emotions. Her art has been in shows including exhibitions with SciArt at the Nature Nurture Center, Tikhonova & Wintner Fine Art, and Flux Art Fair.
