David Krase was born 1959 in New York City and raised on Long Island. He obtained a B.A. in History from Stony Brook University and an M.S. in Special Education from Long Island University. Having worked for nearly two decades as a teacher and social worker on both coasts, Krase has spent much of his adult life mentoring marginalized populations including Black and Latino Youth, victims of violence and sexual abuse and veterans of the Vietnam War. He is currently a Special Ed teacher in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and Brownsville, Brooklyn. Also a musician, David Krase has worked with Sony Epic and MTV, producing music for the shows Road Rules and Making of the Bands. He is known amongst the musical community for being a pioneer of the downtempo electronic musical genre known as Trip Hop. Since 2009, Krase has shown his mixed media paintings and drawings in chalk, oil, acrylic, pastel and ink throughout the United States.
