This is a piece from the series of "Cabinet of Curiosities." I drew every piece separately and made a collage, which looks like a girl is watching a bird, but the bird is actually on her head. This art is interactive: the mountains appear when a photo is taken with flash.
About Aiko Fukuda:
Aiko was born in Japan in 1986. She graduated from Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts with a B.A. in Graphic Design. After completing her studies Aiko returned to Tokyo and started working as an in-house Graphic Designer in the luxury fashion industry. Meanwhile, she was into drawing in which she found peace. She began pursuing illustration intensely on the weekends and in 2014 she became a full-time freelance illustrator.
Aiko’s work is fashion-inspired illustrations with a delicate, pen-drawn touch. Just as we choose the clothes we wear, the music we listen to, and the changing weather, her mood influences her drawings. Her curiosity never stops and she is constantly challenging herself with new illustrative methods and techniques, experimenting with the possibilities of combining the analogue and digital world.
