Graphite on Arches Paper. Framed.
Inspired by the same landscape view in Lubec, Maine, I have been involved in a 14 year continuing project that uses the focusing power of line to define spatial energies that I see in the ocean, land and sky. The foundation of this work is based on exploring the natural patterns and spatial rhythms that repeat themselves spontaneously in my lines. The similarities and differences of these patterns form a language that has defined this project. All lines, including circle, are freehand.
I live and work in New York City and in the summer in Lubec, Maine. I have been a professional artist for over 40 years, exhibiting in New York, New Jersey, Maine and The Netherlands. My work is part of an ongoing series relating line and space to landscape. I work exclusively in the medium of drawing.
